How to measure your vanity top
1. Measurements can be taken off a vanity (cabinet) in place or an existing top; however, measurements submitted must be of the actual vanity top.
2. Standard vanities are either 21” (most popular) or 18” deep thus standard vanity tops are standard 22” or 19” deep (A). However, The Marble Factory can make tops in any depth up to 30”.
3. If the vanity is between walls, the top should be ¼” SHORTER (B) than the measurement between walls. Be sure to measure this distance at the front of the vanity and again at the back of the vanity (it is rare these measurements are exactly the same). The top will be ¼” less than the smaller of these two measurements. In this situation two side-splashes should be ordered with the top.
4. If the top is against one side wall, the top should be 1” LONGER (B) than the vanity. This will allow for overhang. One side-splash should be ordered for the side against the wall.
5. If the top is on a free standing vanity (no walls on either side) the top should be 2” LONGER (B) than the vanity to allow for 1” overhang on each side.
6. If the top is a banjo style top (dotted line), the deck (measurement (C) – the part of the top covering the vanity) should be 1” LONGER than the vanity. On most banjo style tops the depth of the banjo will be 8” (E). However, this can be customized.
7. To determine bowl (sink) position, provide a measurement from the closest side wall to the middle of the drain (D). This will be determined by either: the position of the plumbing or the center of the vanity doors. It is usually unnecessary to provide measurements from front to back.
8. Faucets generally come in three configurations; 4”, 8” or single hole. Most units (especially single- lever) come with 4” centers. The measurement (F) is taken from the middle of the two outside holes.
